Compute Substrate has now reached the stage where independent miners, competing tips, stale races, and propagation latency are naturally emerging across the network.
This is an expected property of a genuinely distributed system.
At this stage, stable public nodes become increasingly valuable. Mining secures consensus, but public nodes strengthen:

If you want to materially help the network, consider running a persistent public node in addition to (or instead of) mining.
